Several sources on news websites, Facebook and Twitter claimed that Saudi led coalition targeted a popular market in Zabid city in Al-Hudaydah governorate, with multiple air strikes, causing civilian casualties. The estimates of news websites and human rights organizations of the casualties  differed. Human Rights Watch, in its report on the results of its field investigation, said that at about 4:15 p.m. aircraft dropped at least five bombs on Zabid, three of which struck a three-story building in the middle of Shagia market and killed at least 60 civilians, including 13 women and 10 children, and injuring at least 155. According to Human Rights Watch, the first bomb struck a sweets shop in the building. The second strike, which witnesses said took place about five minutes later, hit a restaurant on the building’s ground floor. The third struck the building’s second floor, causing the structure to collapse. The force of the blasts also destroyed two other buildings housing another restaurant and four grocery stores. A source on Facebook claimed that the second strike took place 15 minutes after the first, targeting paramedics who rushed to the scene. Another source claimed that the strikes targeted gatherings of Houthis in the security and police building and Shagia market complex in Zabid. However, Bellingcat investigation said that it is likely that the munitions may have dropped from the air. The Bellingcat open source investigation did not find any indication that the victims were military personnel. Circulated photos showed the aftermath of the air strike in Zabid and victims in different locations (the hospital, the site of the attack). Videos on Facebook and YouTube showed separate air strikes when the smoke was rising, and the aftermath of the bombing. In one video, an eyewitness and the person who was shooting the video said that 3 raids targeted the place at the same time. His video showed rising thick smoke, panicked and screaming civilians. Several eyewitnesses and injured people confirmed that the area is civilian with a popular market and street vendors, and that a week after the attack, some bodies are still under the rubble.
